FAIRFAX, SC (WTOC) -
Registration started Monday at the
Virgin Johnson Academy of Excellence, a new charter school serving Allendale,
Hampton and Jasper counties. Not only do parents, educators and business
leaders believe the school will provide students with a better education, it is
free to go to the school.
"A lot of times with us living in
the lowcountry area, the children in the public schools are not always exposed
to things that the charter school can do because we are not restricted by the
state as a public school is," said Brenda Brooks, Virgin Johnson Academy of
Excellence.
They says that they would like
nearly 500 students.
