Ga., Google launch free websites for small businesses

Gov. Nathan Deal announced on Monday a partnership with Google that will helps give Georgia's small businesses free websites.

The program Georgia Get Your Business Online will give businesses the tools and resources to launch a website, find new customers and grow, according to the governor's office.

More than half or 54 percent of Georgia small businesses do not have a website, according to the governor's office.

For the next year, participating Georgia businesses can go to www.georgiagetonline.com to get free tools, training and resources for their businesses online presence.

Google is working with Intuit to provide websites toolkit, which includes an easy-to-build website, a customized domain name and free web hosting for one year.

Georgia is the latest state to participate in Google's Get Your Business Online, according to the governor's office. More states are being added to the program and it's in 23 countries worldwide.
