Flames of War miniaturesEFFINGHAM CO., GA (WTOC) -
GnomeCon, a three-day science fiction/fantasy
convention slated to hit Savannah in April, will be hosting a series of Flames
of War games run by Effingham County Middle School 6th grade social
studies teacher Alan Sheridan. He has been using his passion for miniature gaming
to help capture his students' imagination.
Approximately 18 students participate in a Flames
of War after school group hosted by Sheridan. The table-top game is published
by Battlefront Miniatures, who offers full support to school groups looking to
host the game as an extra-curricular activity. Sheridan's group meets every
Friday.
At GnomeCon, Sheridan will run two sanctioned
Flames of War tournaments. On April 21, a tournament for adults will take place
and on April 22, a tournament for middle and high school students will be
