School officials say parent attacked coach

CHATHAM CO., GA (WTOC) -

A woman was arrested Thursday night on battery charges.

School officials said the parent attacked her child's basketball coach.

Nakiea Hampton is charged with felony battery on a school teacher, disorderly conduct, cruelty to children and disrupting public schools.

Officials said she became upset after her child was accidentally hit with a basketball during practice on Tuesday night at Southwest Middle School.
