TATTNALL CO., GA (WTOC) -
A Tattnall County
couple is free on bond after investigators charged them with growing dozens of
marijuana plants. Deputies confronted Charles and Cynthia Denham after they
found dried pot plants and potting soil outside their mobile home. Inside, they
found nearly 100 plants, growing lights and fans for the operation.
Investigators say they are getting more reports of marijuana operations over
cocaine and other drugs.
"We have always had a
small number of marijuana growers but these are larger indoor plants, big
operations and the good citizens are calling us," said Sheriff Quinton Rush,
Tattnall County.
Sheriff Rush credits
his drug investigators and the statewide Governor's Drug Task Force that sweeps
each county during the growing season for outdoor plants.
