SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) -
More than 100 students from 23
different southeast Georgia high schools took part in the annual Georgia Tech Savannah
Regional Science and Engineering Fair Wednesday at the Coastal Georgia Center
in Savannah. The fair gives students a chance to compete with other students in
a number of science and engineering categories, and apply the things they have
been learning in the classroom.
"We love to get them involved
early so they can see the practical applications of the things they have learned in
school. It gives them a chance to get their hands dirty," said Elliott Moore,
head judge.
The winners will be announced
Thursday night following a public viewing of the projects beginning at 5 p.m.
The top 15 percent from the Regional Science Fairs will then compete in the
State Science Fair in Athens.
