SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) -
Students in the Family Career and
Community Leaders of America organization at Myers Middle School spent part of
their school day packing up nearly 400 pairs of shoes that will be sent to the
State Capitol and then onto children in Africa. The group has been collecting
shoes for the Souls for Shoes program for a few weeks and say students are
still bringing in shoes.
"It makes me and some other
students feel pride because they are not only receiving, they are giving to
those who are less fortunate and do not have certain things in life," said
Sabrina Clark, FCCLA president.
Faculty advisors say they are
also proud to be taking part and are excited to hear when the shoes arrive to a
person in need.
