Women file lawsuit against District Attorney

SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) -

Four women filed a lawsuit in Federal Court Thursday against Chatham County District Attorney Larry Chisolm.

In the lawsuit, the women say they applied for an investigator job with the District Attorney's Office, but claim they never got an interview because they are not attractive men.

The lawsuit alleges Chisolm hired Jonathan Drummond because he is male "and Chisolm is physically and sexually attracted to men."

The suit goes on to say, "Chisolm sought to fill the position with a man to whom he was attracted without any regard for his lack of qualifications..the plantiffs were more qualified than the male selected by Chisolm...and the only reason he was selected is because he's a man."

Nearly a year and a half ago, Jonathan Drummond filed a sexual discrimination complaint against Chisolm. Drummond says he was forced to sleep in the same hotel room as Chisolm and asked personal questions.

In September 2010, The Chatham County Commission met behind closed doors to discuss the allegations of misconduct against the District Attorney.

They took no action then. The Lawsuit has yet to go to trial.
