Daniel Dahlquist's life changed forever on December 6th. That's the day the sanitation worker discovered a dead baby in a dumpster near Central Avenue.
"The image in my mind. I just keep seeing that baby. And that's hard to get out of your mind. The baby just laying on the cold steel," Dahlquist said.
Police searched through the trash and traced it back to the baby's mother. They say she is an 18 year old high school student. But they still haven't pressed any charges.
"It wasn't a natural death. That baby was hidden and concealed in the middle of a trash can and inside garbage bags. I'm convinced this was murder. A premeditated murder," Dahlquist said.
But police still aren't sure. They did an autopsy on the baby and sent the results off to the state crime lab. But they say the crime lab is backed up and they still haven't gotten back the results they need to decide whether or not to press charges.
"I want the police to hurry up and do something. It makes it really hard for me to get over. I feel so sorry for the baby because it has nothing," Dahlquist said.
Police say they aren't sure when they will get the results back and when they'll press charges..
