Unless you were raised in the wild to run like a cheetah, you've felt the unwelcome and unnecessary spike at the gas-pump, inevitably elevating the cost of all oil-dependent consumer goods, including sea, air and land transportation. If crude continues its climb, prices could revert to levels unseen since 2008's financial collapse, with a possible recession-relapse, de-railing our fragile recovery. So, who's to blame? D.C.'s 24/7 fault-deflector points to the turmoil raging within some Middle-Eastern and North African oil-rich nations. No question, prices go up, when constant demand meets uncertain supply. And since we stubbornly and stupidly still import 60% of our oil, America remains energy-handcuffed.
So, as we face a possible economic slide backwards, worsened, now, by Washington's inflationary money-printing-fetish, who's really to blame? We are! We, who for decades, allowed too many D.C. politicians to trade spines for suck-up politics, becoming hairless-Chihuahuas on the lease of cash-rich, power-demanding, world-order enviro-types, some of whom still object to expanding nuclear. But it's our current green-fairy-tale-seducing Administration that's proven to be the worst, purposely stopping new land or sea drilling in northern Alaska, new shale-oil recovery in our western states, and even in the Gulf, where the Feds' moratorium-antics are now in contempt of court. America has abundant, repeat, abundant, oil, gas and coal reserves to reduce our foreign need, while creating tens of thousands of new jobs, as longer-term work continues on commercially-feasible alternatives. Ask your Members of Congress to demand that this developmental wrecking-ball of an Administration stop the game-playing with our security and livelihoods. Intentionally-destructive politics have no place in this great free land of productivity and growth.
