A significant new school-community partnership is now official.  The 260th Quartermaster Battalion, home-stationed at Hunter Army Airfield, has entered into a partnership arrangement with White Bluff Elementary School in Savannah.  Battalion soldiers, School Board members and Superintendent Dr. Thomas Lockamy were on hand as the partnership sign was unveiled.

Said Battalion Commander, Lieutenant-Colonel Jimmy Brown:  "Our soldiers will meet with the students at least twice-a-month, answer their questions, read to them, share life experiences, while serving as positive role models for these young people."  This new relationship is one of several such partnerships already existing between our schools and area military units.

Our congratulations to the students, teachers, staff and administrators at White Bluff Elementary for this important link-up with Hunter's 260th Quartermaster Battalion.   And our thanks to these fine soldiers, along with  the community out-reach members of our other service branches, as well.  America's military members, present and past, are among the very finest role-models our young students could ever have.
