It's not just kids who say the darndest things. Too often it's career politicians spouting stuff fed by imaginary voices under their bed. Take for example, Senator John Kerry, invoking political victimhood on behalf of fellow royals, blaming public rejection of their destructive policies, not on themselves, but rather… get ready… on the bigotry and ignorance of America's voters, who just don't pay enough attention, thus, becoming (quote) "influenced by a simple slogan, rather than the truth." Perhaps a simple slogan like "Hope and Change." Florida Governor Crist, endorsed the mosque's First Amendment status, saying: "America is a place where you (should) be able to practice your religion without the government telling you, you can't." Tell that to the courts, whose persistent anti-First Amendment rulings, are aimed, not at today's coddled religion, but at driving Christianity and Judaism out of public view. To wit, a fresh complaint in Florida, against a Pee-Wee football league's voluntary, pre-game prayer. Forget stopping Islamic terrorism, we've got kids praying.
Troubling remarks, impacting security, sometimes come directly from the President. First, his quote in the new Woodward book: "…we can absorb a terrorist attack, even a 9/11.." Beyond seeming detachment from the human carnage, why even think that, let alone, say it. It's like inviting terrorists to give us their best shot. Then at a security summit, the President said (quote): "Whether we like it or not, we remain a dominant military superpower." Whether we like it or not? Would we like living under repressive Shariah law or as a colony of China? We Americans are blessed to live in freedom, thanks to our dominant military. Seems the Administration may not believe that, worse yet, may not believe in us. Not a good omen for this exceptional, God-given Republic, intended to be governed of, by, and for the people.
